A truly massive crowd in New Inn, today, Sunday 29 March 2015, for the 4th running of their increasingly popular 5KM road race.
Kudos to the organising committee from St. Killian's Vocational School on a flawless event, except for the downpour that greeted the finishers at the top end of the field back at the finish line, but which hit those poor souls who were still finding their way around the course, out and around the Ballinasloe road. Sixteen athletes broke 20 minutes while 74 broke 25 minutes with 370 competing altogether.
Everyone got home in one piece, eventually, ably called in by Mary Porter on a very loud tannoy (I heard Mary at the 500M-to-go mark back to the road), while her husband was on timing duties.
Full provisional result attached!
