Long standing club member, Marie Curran, will be launching her new poetry book 'Observant Observings' on Friday 12th September 2014 in the Town Cafe, Athenry @ 7.30pm.

Marie was a very active member of the club until 2011 / 2012 when she was diagnosed with myalgic encephaloyelitis (more commonly know as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) a condition which causes constant tiredness. Due to the illness she is currently housebound, however ME/CFS doesn’t stop her writing. She believes writing is soul food and such food must be shared.

As some of you know, my running days with Athenry AC are currently on hold.

These past few years have been spent pacing a different kind of off-road race, and part of that journey has taken me toward my debut poetry collection "Observant Observings", ***Subliminal messaging***Available as both softcopy and eBook next Monday Sept. 1st.


 


There will be a book launch in the Town Café, Athenry, on September 12th and I wish to extend an arm of welcome to you all.  Doors open at 7.30pm, with free teas / coffees and light bites. Who knows, it might be a chance to pick someone's brain on an upcoming race?
