A huge crowd of 699 finished this evenings opening leg of the 2014 Galway 5k Series in Athenry in perfect running conditions.

Galway City Harriers had the first three runners home with John Greaney taking the win in a time of 16.13. Regina Casey, also of GCH, was first female home in a time of 18.11.
