We are delighted to extend a warm invitation to you to the official launch of our club race 2011 ‘Galway Aquathon Festival’ at the Salthill Hotel on Thursday April 21st at 7pm.

The Aquathon Festival 2011 is replacing our club race of recent years’ Triathlon Chonnemara in Carna, which will see Galway Triathlon Club coming home and taking to the local waters of Galway Bay on Saturday 9th July for great day of racing in Salthill.

The Aquathon Festival is a new event on the sporting calendar for Galway and a huge opportunity for us to showcase our club and encourage more people to join us and participate in this rapidly growing sport.

The Aquathon will have a host of Junior Race distances on the day as well as a Sprint distance race of 750m swim followed by a 5km run at the Cladagh. The featured race of the day will be the long distance event of a 2km swim from Blackrock to Grattan beach and 10km run along the scenic route of the Claddagh and Grattan beach. With a Relay option for the long course there is a perfect opportunity for a swimmer and runner to join forces to participate in the event.
