Paul Hession this evening ran in the World Athletics Final 200m in Thessaloniki. The field was a fairly mixed field but included current World Champion and world record holder Usain Bolt. Paul again did not get one of the better lane draws, being in lane 1 on the very inside. After a false start by Marlon Devonish the full field went away on the second attempt. Paul came out of the bend like a rocket in what looked like third or maybe fourth place and was holding fourth with just a few metres to go. Paul was pipped to the line by the Mauritian athlete Stephane Buckland by 3/100 of a second. Yet again Paul continues to mix it with the best on the world stage.

Well done Paul, yet again you do your club, Athenry, Ireland and most importantly yourself proud.
