Clare River Harriers hosted a very successful running of their annual 10KM Road race last evening on their new 5KM course.

The event stayed fine, just, and at least 150 athletes lined up at the start.

Two loops of the new 5KM course ensued - including a double incline of the gut-busting Rock Road hill - before finishing in the new business park outside the village of Claregalway.

The full result is not to hand yet but I do know that Elaine Walsh was the winner of the woman's race while the women's team was second overall.
