Tullamore hosts the AAI MASTERS T&F CHAMPS on Sunday 16 August. The Masters' age categories begin at 35 and the championships have all the usual track events up to 5k for men, and up to 3k for women. And also a full program of field events. (I hear MB is going for the javelin).

It usually takes a fast time or a long throw to win a medal in a category but many average club athletes compete also so no need to be fearful.

Spare yourself the usual drive by going on the train! Tullamore railway station is only 450 metres from the track facility at Tullamore AC (see map at http://www.tullamoreharriers.com/contactclub.html), and the station is of course on the main Galway - Athenry - Dublin track.
