Paul Hession this morning made it through his 60m first round heat of the European Indoor Championships as one of the fastest qualifiers. This has now earned him a place in this afternoons second semi-final. This could prove to be a tough semi with the event favourite Dwain Chambers in the same semi-final. Based on this mornings times, Paul goes into his semi as the sixth fastest of the men and it will most likely need a time close to his personal best to secure him a place in tomorrows final. The presence of Chambers in his heat could just prove to be a plus as it promises to be a quick one. Semi-final results to follow.

Paul finished 5th in his semi-final in a seasons best time of 6.66, just 3 one-hundredths of a second behind fourth place. the pace was blindingly quick with certain favourite Dwain Chambers crossing the line in 6.42 seconds, a new European Record.
