There was a great showing by Athenry in todays Simon races in Galway this afternoon in both the 10k & 10 mile events.

In the 10mile we had four of the first eight home including two podium spots. In a race won by GCH's Gary Thornton in 57.28, Mick Rice was 2nd with a 1.02.35 & Jane Anne Healy was 3rd overall with a 1.05.36 & a gap of over seven minutes to the second placed female. Gearoid Rohan was 5th & Paul Hegarty 8th.

In the 10k event Tomas Kadzielawski was 6th home in a time of 39.24.Miriam Wall was 6th female home with a time of 45.20.
