Let's hope he gets a good draw!
Update: Hession safely negotiates the first round in a time of 20.66.
Despite a relatively weak looking field, Hession's heat was one of the fastest, with all 3 automatic qualifiers under 20.7.
The quarter final is at 5:55pm Irish time this afternoon.
Our clubmate Paul Hession takes on the world tomorrow in Berlin with all of the good wishes of his clubmates, his town and his country behind him. With dazling memories of all of the excitement in Beijing still fresh in our minds we turn our attention once more to Paul's extraordinary adventures on the track and hope that he can fulfil his ambitions. Of course to ordinary mortals just being in Berlin, even as a spectator, would be spectacular enough, but we know Paul Hession dreams loftier dreams.
We'll be glued to our TV's tomorrow and if we could we'd be pushing him towards the finish line with each beat of our heart.
World Athletics Championships.
Run well Paul, and run strong.
