One of Diana's fans (there are many) rang me over the weekend to let me know the fantastic news that she had won the Gobi Desert March adventure race. Diana had led the event from the gun but was always vulnerable to a late charge by any of her competitors in this grueling event. Although she's an experienced ultramarathoner, Diana was participating in this event for the first time. In addition to Diana's fantastic race-winning performance, Shane O'Rourke, representing the Abalta School for Children with Autism finished in fourth position in the men's race. Shirley Potter who works with UCHG and Luke Nolan and Irishman living and working in China also completed the event under Irish colours. Congratulations to all four from everyone at home.
