What a fantastic evening for a run in Claregalway. Another field in excess of 400 runners and walkers turned out in Claregalway last evening to enjoy the beautiful weather and take on the challenge of covering 5km as fast as they could manage. The Claregalway route had been tweaked slightly from previous years so the the race started and finished by the Claregalway Business Park. This provided a safer race and more space for organising the finish line. Andy Talbot of Clare River Harriers and his crack team of local volunteers had all of the important organisational details correct.
Despite his promissing debut in Craughwell last week Elvis appears to have 'left the building' and we had to make do with various other apparitions on the roads to satisfy our curiosity.
Congratulations to all those who covered the course. Next week we'll all be heading to Loughrea for another beautiful course and, hopefully, another enjoyable evening's running. As next week is the fifth in this year's series, next week will the first time that some people will be able to fulfill the condition of having run or voulnteered at five or more races to qualify for their series shirt. we hope to post a list of who has done what so far this year in the next couple of days so that everyone knows where they stand and to make sure our records are correct.
See you in Loughrea.
