The Galway 5Km May Series continued to go from strength to strength last evening in Craughwell. Last evening's 5Km Fun Run and Race was hosted once again by the local members of Craughwell AC and was a resounding success. Over 235 runners and walkers reported for 'duty' on the night which represented the largest single field in the short history of this series. It was a great credit to the local organisers that such a large number of competitors managed to take part in the event without any difficulty whatsoever. Although the figures have yet to be finalised it looks like over 350 individuals have now taken part in at least one race in the series this year. These figures represent a huge increase on last year and are a great vote of confidence in the value for money and sheer fun on offer throughout these series of races.
Next week the action shifts to Loughrea and we'll be posting details of that race today or tomorrow. The results for last nights race are in preparation and once again we'll post a preliminary set of results as soon as we can.
Congratulations once again to all the members of Craughwell AC on the hosting of a quality event which was a credit to their club and community. Hopefully we'll all be back next year to enjoy such fine hospitality one more time.
