Thomas Porter In Action
Galway Bay ‘10’ Action
On a day of high winds and good spirits nearly 1,000 runners took part in the Galway Bay ‘10’ in Galway last Saturday. Sponsored by Galway Bay FM this race is a fundraiser in aid of Cancer Care West. A number of Athenry runners took part in this year’s event and they were well to the fore. Sligo AC’s Gary Higgins took the overall honours and Robert Malseed of Clonliffe Harriers followed him home in second place. Third over the finish line was our own Brian O’Connor and the fourth placed finisher was Peter Delmer also wearing the maroon and white of Athenry. Full results are not yet posted for this race but rumor also reaches us of a fine run by our very own running Rugby player, Owen Curran. More when we have it.
