Jane-Ann Healy (pictured here after winning the 2012 Connemara Half Marathon) continued her fantastic running form today with a very well deserved 2nd place, in the Kildare Marathon, which was won by Pauline Curley. Jane-Ann finished in a race time of 3:05:34 agonisingly close to the magic 3 hour barrier she is sure to break very very soon. Jane-Ann wasn't alone on the run, being kept company for most of the race by 3-hour pace man Mick Rice (2:59:31) and Tony Killarney who crossed the line in a truly superb 3:07:43.
Athenry were also represented by our very own Queen of the Desert, Ruthann Sheahan, finishing in 3:27:13 and also by Kieran Guiry who came across the finish in 3:50:11. We understand it was a tough day at the office for Kieran, but his thoughts will now turn towards the Portumna 50K in a months time.
The club also had representation in the Half-Marathon with David Meehan slotting in a very nice 1:38:50.
Congratulations to all
Brilliant Running
well done.
